Seed Summer Survival Guide - page 3

1. Changing of the Guard
Cost: Free
Get to Buckingham Palace a bit
before 11am to see the Changing
of the Guard, one of the oldest and
most recognisable ceremonies
in London.
2. Watch pelicans being fed
in St James’s Park
Cost: Free
St James’s Park is often overlooked
but is one of the loveliest green spaces to let the kids
run about in. Every day at 2.30pm you can watch the
pelicans at Duck Island being fed fresh fish.
3. Regent’s Canal Path
Cost: Free
Begin in Little Venice and walk along the Regent’s
Canal Path to Hackney, admiring the canal boats along
the way. Duck off the towpath at Victoria Park, which
has an excellent playground.
4. Coram’s Fields
Cost: Free
This is a great pit stop in central London: 7 acres
entirely for children. There's an adventure playground
with aerial slide, sand pits, paddling pool and
a small farm.
5. Dodge the water jets
in Granary Square
Cost: Free
Behind King’s Cross there
are rows of ground-level
fountains that rise and fall
unpredictably. Try to stay
dry or just run in…and bring
a towel!
